The Fulton County Family Partnership Dental Clinic Helps Recognize February as Children’s Dental Health Month:
Jan 25, 2018
The Fulton County Family Partnership Dental Clinic is helping to raise awareness in the month of February for National Children’s Dental Health Month. On the specified screening dates, volunteer dentists will see young patients at the Fulton County Family Partnership Dental Clinic located at the Overly Raker Building Complex on Great Cove Road in McConnellsburg, PA. The Dental Clinic will host three days of free dental screenings for children ranging in ages from birth to 18 years of age. There are no income guidelines for this event and no appointments are necessary; however, should bad weather occur we would need to cancel for that day only.
Dental screenings will occur on the following dates and times:
February 14, 2018 9 a.m. to noon
February 21, 2018 9 a.m. to noon
February 28, 2018 9 a.m. to noon
“Each February, American Dental Association (ADA) sponsors National Children's Dental Health Month to raise awareness about the importance of oral health” (ada.org). What once started as a one-day event starting in 1941, grew to a week, and is now a month long event promoting good oral hygiene among children. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) recommends that children have their first dental checkup no later than one year of age; therefore, it is important to start good oral hygiene early.
Teaching your child proper oral hygiene while they are young is an investment in his or her health that will pay lifelong dividends. For more information about this event, call the Fulton County Family Partnership at 717-485-6767.
